About 180 students crossed the stage at Future Skills Academy’s graduation ceremony recently.
Our graduates were from a range of programmes in healthcare, construction and foundation studies.
Future Skills Academy CEO, Sam Alavi, congratulated students and staff on their achievements and successes.
During what had been an unprecedented year, and the shift from face-to-face learning to online learning and then back again, the students and staff showed a lot of commitment to accepting the challenge and came away successful, he said.
This celebration is a testament to the hard work and dedication shown by our students, not only to gain a qualification, but also to future-proof their career, he added.
Student guest speaker, Olivia Preston, talked about the value of education and how it changed her life. The story of Olivia’s journey from student to graduate and alumni was indeed heart-warming for the students and staff.
New Zealand rugby union player, Charles Riechelmann, was the guest speaker for the event. Charles congratulated graduates on their success despite the challenges they faced this year.
He said the year has given everyone an opportunity to rise above the challenges and achieve their goals.
The ceremony included a student performance by Royal Oak students and a closing performance by Rohan Desai.
