Learners returning to the Royal Oak campus in Block 3 have been welcomed back with a BBQ and a cupcake decorating competition. Students were encouraged to showcase their talents in the contest which was judged by Kavi and Roy. Anaseini Matele and Sarita Bhindi both won a prezzy card for best overall decorative cupcake. Congratulations Anaseini and Sarita!
All students were enthusiastic and overwhelmed to have their first week back on campus welcomed with whanaungatanga and Manaakitanga, says lecturer Maria Oxenham. Everyone enjoyed the festivities and the chance to socialise again face to face after Auckland’s shift to the orange light setting. It was heartening to see the students’ smiling faces in person rather than on a screen.
Staff and students all pitched in to help with the event preparation.
