Staff and students had fun learning more about mental health at our Wackee Wednesday Hairdo’z event today.
Our NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Mental Health and Addiction Support) students organised the event to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week.
Everyone was encouraged to come along wearing purple and sporting their most creative hairstyle.
The day opened with a Karakia Timatatanga (prayer). We then played games and competed in a mental health-themed quiz.
Students then took us through poster presentations about their research. Topics included Strengths, Māori Mental Health, The Recovery Model, Family Inclusive Practice, and Pacific Mental Health.
The event finished with lunch.
