Saranga is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 18 years of experience in large and complex international projects across Abu Dhabi, Qatar, and Sri Lanka.
Her expertise spans pre and post contract quantity surveying, contract administration, procurement, and commercial management in the building and infrastructure sectors.
She has worked with contractors, consultants, and government bodies, handling high-value projects such as the Lusail Plaza Towers in Qatar, major wastewater and flood mitigation projects in Sri Lanka, and large-scale developments in the UAE.
Saranga holds an M.Sc. in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution and another M.Sc. in Project Management, from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. She also has a B.Sc. (Hons) in Quantity Surveying.
She is a MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) and an AIQSSL (Associate Member of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors Sri Lanka).
Her research interests include construction law, dispute resolution, and procurement strategies. Past research has focused on design and build liabilities concerning differing site conditions, as well as procurement strategies for disaster reconstruction projects.
Saranga’s goal is to equip learners with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills that are essential for success in the construction industry. She aims to foster critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a strong understanding of industry standards, cost management, and contract administration.
She is passionate about contributing to the next generation of professionals in the construction industry. With her diverse international experience, she aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practices, preparing students for global opportunities in the fields of quantity surveying and construction management.
Outside of work, Saranga has an interest in music and travelling, which helps her explore different cultures and broaden her perspectives.
