COURSE INFORMATION

COURSE INFORMATION

You will need to be a New Zealand citizen or resident visa holder, be at least 16 years old and have a low skill level in reading, writing and maths.

You will gain useful foundational knowledge to improve your individual needs in Reading, Writing and basic computer skills. Developing these capabilities will open up pathways to higher levels of study.

Learn how to communicate with confidence and develop your cognitive abilities such as paying attention, recalling information, reasoning, problem-solving and processing information. You will learn capability skills such as collaboration and teamwork and critical thinking.

You will develop the confidence to engage with others and ask questions to learn more about the English language so you can participate more meaningfully in and contribute more to your community.

You will attend tutorials each week where you can ask your lecturers any questions about your assessments and learning.

How can I afford the tuition fee? 
This programme is FREE. 

I have so many commitments. I am concerned I may not be able to complete the programme. 
Please feel free to reach out to our Student Services team and find out how you will be supported during your learning. 

What is the application process? 
You can apply via our Application Portal.  

What if I miss some classes? 
You will have access to all the learning material on our learning management system, Moodle. We need you to attend at least 80 per cent of the classes. 

Will I be able to manage my time? 
Feel free to reach out to your lecturer and our Student Support team for help setting up a study routine and maintaining a good study/life balance.

Is there cultural support for me? 
Yes, we have fun activities and cultural events to celebrate the many diverse ethnicities at our campuses. You are also welcome to join our Māori and Pasifika committee for students.
