Financial Support Available

Don’t let financial worries get in the way of you achieving your goals. There are a number of options available to help you pay for your study, and some of our programmes are even free.

Fees Free Study

The Government provides Fees Free study for first-time learners covering up to $12,000.

The Government's Fees Free initiative is for New Zealand citizens and residents. Visit the Fees Free website to learn more and to see if you are eligible. You will need to have your National Student Number (NSN) ready to check if you qualify.

Free Programmes

Two of our programmes are currently free to study. These free programmes are our NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 2) and Reading and Writing.

Student Loans and Allowances

StudyLink provides financial support to students and connects them with the information they need to make informed financial and study decisions. StudyLink is a service of the Ministry of Social Development.

Student Loans and Allowances are for New Zealand citizens and residents. The StudyLink Eligibility Test is a free, easy tool you can use to find out what help you qualify for, and choose if you want to apply. This is the best first step to take when applying for StudyLink.

Training Incentive Allowance

If you receive a benefit from Work and Income, you might be eligible for financial assistance through the Training Incentive Allowance (TIA). TIA can help cover the cost of course fees and other study costs for some courses.

TIA can help you pay for things like books, childcare, equipment, and transport while you are studying a Level 1-7 course of the New Zealand Qualifications Framework. All courses at Future Skills Academy are NZQA accredited.

To learn more about TIA and apply, visit the Work and Income website.
