Future Skills has launched a new programme of study designed to prepare skilled fire engineering technicians for a growing industry.
The New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Fire Engineering) (Level 6) is a comprehensive programme that focuses on equipping students to meet real-world demands. It blends practical and theoretical learning to address fire safety and risk management challenges in construction and industry.
The programme which comprises 240 credits is delivered over 64 to 80 weeks, with options for full-time and part-time study. It is designed to accommodate a variety of learners, including those already working in the industry.
Delivered through a combination of online learning, evening and weekend classes, and face-to-face sessions at the Manukau campus, it offers unparalleled flexibility.
Graduates of the programme will be equipped to design, install, and maintain fire safety systems, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with building safety regulations.
